We are currently seeking a Human Factors Engineer (Experimental, Cognitive, Industrial/Organizational, Human Factors, or Applied). This position located in Arlington VA.
Battelle’s Critical Infrastructure Business Line is seeking a junior psychologist (Experimental, Cognitive, Industrial/Organizational, Human Factors, or Applied) with strong quantitative skills to support the research, development, test and evaluation of security systems and technology for both the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration. This is a full-time position, and the selected candidate will work in Battelle’s Crystal City Operations in Arlington, Virginia.
Work is performed both in the field and at the TSA Systems Integration Facility (TSIF) located at the Ronald Reagan Nation Airport. Candidate will aid in the development and evaluation of security systems and processes to improve Homeland Security, operator effectiveness, productivity, and safety. They will apply experimental psychology techniques to identify the cognitive/perceptual requirements and abilities of system users, operators, and maintainers. Candidate must have strong quantitative skills and excellent computer skills including expertise in the use of applicable Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
The candidate must have at least a MS psychology from an accredited college or university.
Experience required is 0-2 years of technical work experience.
The candidate must be able to travel, be a self-starter, and a team player. Travel is expected to be at least 25%.
Sole US Citizenship with the eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance and to obtain TSA Security Suitability.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
A Ph.D. in psychology from an accredited college or university
Already possess a DOD Secret Security Clearance
Already possess TSA Security Suitability
Experience in the test and evaluation of Transportation Security Equipment (TSA).
