Works as part of the Business Unit (BU) Finance team, part of the CFO organization, as the financial support lead. Responsible for the direct management of staff. Primary activities include business partnership and advisor, business financial services, compliance and governance. Provides task leadership for Finance staff and applies knowledge to complete assignments within defined schedules as well as supporting initiatives and special assignments as needed.
Manages financial reporting, analysis, planning activities for a business unit with P&L accountability.
Advises the BU general manager and business line managers on business, financial, strategy, and performance matters.
Responsible for management and development of direct-report staff involved in financial analysis and project control.
Coordinates within the CFO organization with accounting, government compliance, and financial planning and analysis, and pricing teams, and across Battelle contract research business operations, other business unit financial managers and directors, and executive management.
Provides leadership and recommendations in the efficient operation and improvement of business processes and systems pertaining to business unit finance.
As needed, coordinates and oversees finance activities at US-based subsidiaries
THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and at least 14 years' experience; at least 8 years' supervisory/management experience OR a Master's degree with 8-10 years experience.
Finance , accounting, or auditing experience at a mid- to large size US government contractor is strongly preferred.
